 Queen Kohsar Murree is a famous beautiful tourist, recreational and healthy place located in the north of Pakistan. Located about 39 km from Rawalpindi district of Punjab and an hour's drive from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, Murree is full of lush mountains, dense forests, dancing clouds and beautiful scenery. The lush green mountains in summer and the snow-capped white mountains in winter are very attractive to tourists. Tourists are attracted here in both summer and winter seasons.
The foundation of the Murree Valley.

After occupying the Punjab in 1849, the British started looking for a cold place and Murree was chosen. The British started various constructions here in 1851. A large church was built here in 1857, which still marks the city center. The city's main street, called the Mall Road, runs alongside the church. The Mall Road is crowded with tourists day and night. There are famous shopping malls and a large number of hotels on and around the Mall Road.
There is a beautiful GPO building on one side of the Mall Road and Pindi Point on the other side. Below the Mall Road are Murree residential areas and bazaars. There are shops selling dried fruits, clothes and decorative items. Where there is always a rush of buyers. Buyers of walnuts, almonds, raisins, chickpeas, pistachios, embroidered garments, warm shawls, wooden and wicker decorations and electronics go here. Slippery kebabs are also very popular here. There are also restaurants on the Mall Road, and tea and coffee stalls and ice cream cones to enjoy in the cold weather. Locals are also seen walking around selling coffee for kettles and cups.  ملکہ کوہسار مری پاکستان کے شمال میں واقع ایک مشہور خوبصورت سیاحتی و تفریحی اور صحت افزا مقام ہے۔ پنجاب کے ضلع راولپنڈی سے تقریباً39 کلو میٹر دور اور پاکستان کے دارالحکومت اسلام آباد سے ایک گھنٹے کی مسافت پر واقع مری کا سفر سرسبز پہاڑوں، گھنے جنگلات، رقص کرتے بادلوں اور حسین نظاروں سے بھرپور ہے۔ گرمیوں کے موسم میں سرسبز و شاداب اورسردیوں میں برف پوش سفید پہاڑ سیاحوں کیلئے بہت زیادہ کشش کا باعث ہیں۔ گرمیوں اور سردیوں دونوں موسموں میں سیاح یہاں کھنچے چلے آتے ہیں۔
مری وادی کی بنیاد۔
1849ءمیں پنجاب پر قبضہ کرنے کے بعد انگریزوں نے کسی سرد مقام کی تلاش شروع کی تو مری کا انتخاب ہوا۔ انگریزوں نے 1851ءمیں یہاں مختلف تعمیرات کا آغاز کیا۔ 1857ءمیں یہاں ایک بڑا چرچ تعمیر کیا گیا جو آج بھی شہر کے مرکز کی نشاندہی کرتا ہے۔ چرچ کے ساتھ شہرکی مرکزی سڑک گزرتی ہے جسے مال روڈ کہا جاتا ہے۔ مال روڈ پر دن رات سیاحوں کا رش رہتا ہے۔ مال روڈ پر اور اس کے قرب و جوار میں مشہور تجارتی مراکز اور کثیر تعداد میں ہوٹل ہیں۔ 
مال روڈ کے ایک کنارے پر جی پی او کی خوبصورت عمارت ہے جبکہ دوسرے کنارے پر پنڈی پوائنٹ ہے۔ مال روڈ سے نیچے کی طرف مری کے رہائشی علاقے اور بازارقائم ہیں۔ یہاں خشک میوہ جات، ملبوسات اور آرائشی سامان کی دکانیں ہیں۔ جہاں ہر وقت خریداروں کا رش رہتا ہے۔ اخروٹ، بادام، کشمش، چلغوزہ، پستہ، کڑھائی والے ملبوسات، گرم شالیں، لکڑی اور بید کی بنی آرائشی اشیاءاور الیکٹرونکس کے آلات خریدنے والے یہاں کا رخ کرتے ہیں۔ یہاں کے چپلی کباب بھی بہت مشہور ہیں۔ مال روڈ پر بھی رستوران موجود ہیں جبکہ چائے اور کافی کے سٹالز اور سرد موسم میں لطف اندوز ہونے کے لئے کون آئسکریم بھی دستیاب ہے۔ مقامی افراد چلتے پھرتے کیتلی اور کپ لئے قہوہ بیچتے بھی دکھائی دیتے ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ مال روڈ پر بچوں اور عمر رسیدہ افراد کو سیر کروانے کے لئے مقامی افراد ہتھ ریڑھیاں لئے بھی موجود ہوتے ہیں۔
مری وادی کی اونچائ۔
مری سطح سمندر سے تقریباً سات ہزار فٹ بلندی پر واقع ہے۔ یہ برطانوی حکومت کا گرمائی صدر مقام بھی رہا۔

۔ یہاں سکول و کالج، ہسپتال، چھوٹے اور بڑے جدید طرز کے ہوٹل، آرٹس کونسل، کیڈٹ کالج وغیرہ موجود ہیں۔ آرٹس کونسل کے ہال میں سٹیج ڈرامے بھی پیش کئے جاتے ہیں۔ مری کے قریب مشہور اور جدید پی سی بھوربن ہوٹل موجود ہے۔ مری کے قریبی تفریحی مقامات میں گلیات، ایوبیہ، نیو مری، پتریاٹہ وغیرہ بھی قابل دید ہیں۔ مری میں قیام کے دوران سیاح صبح ان علاقوں کا رخ کرتے ہیں اور سارا دن وہاں گزار کر شام کو واپس مری آ جاتے ہیں۔ ٹیکسیوں کے علاوہ پک اپ میں فی سواری کرایہ ادا کرکے بھی ان علاقوں میں جانے کی سہولت موجود ہے۔
مری کی کشش یہاں آنے والوں کواپنے حصار میں لے لیتی ہے۔ قدرتی مناظر آپ کو اپنے قدموں تلے محسوس ہوتے ہیں۔ آپ پہاڑ پر ہوں تو بادل آپ کو نیچے وادیوں میں تیرتے ہوئے نظر آتے ہیں اور کبھی بادل آپ کے گرد منڈلاتے ہوئے آپ کو چھو کر گزرتے ہیں اور آپ کے چہرے پر اپنی نمی چھوڑ جاتے ہیں۔ کبھی بادل ایک دم برسنا شروع ہو جاتے ہیں۔
 14 اگست کو پاکستان کے یوم آزادی کے موقع پر یہاں جشن کا سماں ہوتا ہے۔ منچلے مال روڈ پر خوب ہلا گلا کرتے ہیں۔ اس موسم میں فیملی کے ہمراہ آنے والوں کو چاہئے کہ ہوٹلوں میں بکنگ کروا کر آئیں کیونکہ ہوٹلوں کے کرائے بہت بڑھ جاتے ہیں اور کمرے ملنا مشکل ہو جاتا ہے۔ موسم گرما میں بادلوں کے کھیل تماشے اور سورج کے غروب ہونے کا منظر قابل دید ہوتا ہے۔ کشمیر پوائنٹ سے آپ کشمیر کی برف پوش چوٹیوں کا نظارہ بھی کر سکتے ہیں۔ جنگلات سے بھرپور یہ علاقے انتہائی خوبصورت ہیں، کشمیر پوائنٹ پر ریسٹورنٹ بھی موجود ہے اس کے علاوہ گھڑ سواری کی سہولت بھی دستیاب ہوتی ہے۔ گرمیوں میں اگائے جانے والے پھلوں میں سیب، ناشپاتی اور خوبانی شامل ہیں۔ پہاڑی لوگوں کی بھرپور ثقافت یہاں دکھائی دیتی ہے۔
مری کی چیرلفٹ۔
مری میں چیئرلفٹ کی سہولت بھی مختلف مقامات پردستیاب ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ کیبل کار سے بھی آپ دلفریب مناظر دیکھ سکتے ہیں۔ ایوبیہ اور پتریاٹہ جاتے ہوئے راستے میں آپ کو جگہ جگہ بندر دکھائی دیتے ہیں سیاح وہاں رک کر انہیں بھٹے اور دیگر خوراک ڈالتے ہیں اور ان کے ساتھ تصویریں بنواتے ہیں۔
مری میں موسم سرما۔
برف باری کے شوقین سیاح سردیوں میں مری کارخ کرتے ہیں۔ جب پہاڑوں اور بلند درختوں کو سفید برف ڈھانپ لیتی ہے تو دلکش نظارہ پیش کرتی ہے۔ سیاح برف کے گالوں سے ایک دوسرے کونشانہ بنا کر محظوظ ہوتے ہیں۔ مقامی افراد اور بچوں نے برف کے مجسمے بنا کر انہیں مفلر اور ٹوپی اوڑھا رکھے ہوتے ہیں۔ سیاح ان کو کچھ پیسے دے کران برف کے مجسموں کے ساتھ تصویریں بناتے ہیں۔ سردیوں میں یہاں رش قدرے کم ہوتا ہے ہوٹلوں میں کمرے بھی کم نرخوں پر مل جاتے ہیں اور دیگر اشیا بھی سستی ہو جاتی ہیں۔ برف باری اور پرسکون فضاﺅں سے لطف اندوز ہونے کے دلدادہ سردیوں میں مری کا رخ کرتے ہیں۔
